123WysiWyg Review
(Mark Hendricks & Michael Nicholas)
Rating: 5 stars out of 5

Intro: 123WysiWyg ("123What you see is What you get") is a WYSIWYG (duh!) web design software. Come to think of it, I don't know of one 'ordinary' web page building tool that's not WYSIWYG nowadays*...

*I wonder how long it took for the public to drop the term, "talkies" when describing movies that actually had the actors' voices recorded on the film? (Notice that the term, "movies" never got dropped, even though all motion pictures "move." :) | Anyway, it's a fantastic text editor/web page builder that's been developed by Michael Nicholas and Mark Hendricks. By the way, if you haven't read anything about Mark Hendricks yet, he's the down-to- earth guy who developed the "Internet Success System" and has been a trusted Guru of internet marketing products for years and years.
Price: $97 but there's a free 15-day trial--unrestricted use of a copy to test it out.
Cons: Perhaps the price if you consider that Nvu is a free download. (However, it's definitely better than Nvu.) But since Google's Page Creator (which is FREE) came out, I haven't checked it out, so you may want to hold off buying 123WysiWyg until you've had a chance to compare them.
Pros: I've compared 123WysiWyg to Nvu and hands-down love it compared to Nvu. And that's saying a lot! One reason is because of the great video that comes with or WITHOUT purchasing it...Mark Hendricks and Mike Nicholas should charge a fee for the video because it is a fantastic tutorial for building web sites using ANY web page building software...
Because most of them share the basic features that are included with 123WysiWyg. But, like I said, this video is available on the 123WysiWyg website for viewing---whether you buy the program or not! But there's much more to 123WysiWyg than a great video tutorial...
More: Here are some features that are unique to 123WysiWyg:
 |
It's very stable. I've used it quite a bit and have never, ever experienced the first glitch, freeze-up, or whatever. This is indeed a pleasant surprise and unusual among site building software. |
 |
The "Go Back and Go Forward" arrows work perfectly--you can back up unlimited times thru forms, images, whatever-- undoing any and all steps. (For some reason, about all other site builders have problems with this.) |
 |
Inserting a form or script does not require that you switch to the "html view." Instead, first click on the area that you want to insert the script or form. Then click the "scripts" icon. This brings up a separate window in which you paste in the script....seamless and no squinting at where in the html code to put your script! |
 |
What if you want to edit the html by hand? Don't you hate trying to find your place when switching to the html view? But with 123WysiWyg, simply highlight the text that you want to 'mark' in the normal view. Then, when you switch to the html view, the text you highlighted is also highlighted in the html--instantly showing you where you want to edit or insert something! A simple but huge time-saver. |
 |
Even though 123WysiWyg has been designed to be simple and its interface intuitive, it was also designed for internet marketers. So it's got features found only on other more expensive and complex site builders, like: |
- Strike-thru button for crossing out a price, for instance.
- One-click insertion of forms without having to go into the
html source code.
- One-click insertion of any or all of these cool features into
your form:
1. Password box 2. Checkbox 3. "Radio button" option 4. Drop-down menu box 5. Pushbutton 6. Submit button 7. Reset button 8. Advanced button
Personally: Here's what I'd do if I were you: I'd sign up for the free 15-day trial of 123WysiWyg and test drive it first. And it's not one of those annoying things where if you don't cancel after 15 days your card gets charged--that's how confident they are you'll come back and volutarily buy it later.
Anyway, in the meantime, give Google's Page Creator a try for comparison.
