Web Design Software Reviews ReadMe

Read This Page before going to any Review!

Each product has been bought and (for the most part) put through the
wringer.  Products that I haven't thoroughly checked out, I'll let you
know.

Product Bonuses are not listed or discussed.  This is because the
bonuses change and the bonuses aren't the things getting reviewed!
Besides, it's been my experience that any bonus that accompanies
the 'main' product is often 'so-so' and even out-of-date.

You will notice that each review is not chock full of clickable product
box images and other marketing-related graphics...
That's because you want to know about the product---NOT be sold on
the product....what kind of "review" would that be?! *

Most of the product images that you do see are for clarification; so
you'll be able to recognize the product.  But most aren't clickable
affiliate links.

I will tell you that I'm am a proud affiliate of Ken Evoy's and Dave
Vallieres, and xSitePro (which HonestySellsBest.com is built with!).

* Multiple clickable images of a product's "box" or other such graphics are a tip-off that you are on an "affiliate link farm" that is masquerading as a "Review Site." If you read the Vortex  Report like you should have, you'll know my opinion on blatant affiliate links as they relate to a trustworthy product review.

*Any "selling" of the product should arise only out of your interest in
the product's merits, as communicated to you by the review.

Because you're supposed to be reading a "review"--not a sales pitch.

In order to ensure that you get a more 'rounded' review---other than
my personal twist on experiences with a product, I always:

1. Read the reviews sent in by C/net's Download.com....mainly the
"Cons."

2. Read reviews posted to Google.  However, many of these are
"mini-site reviews" (that I talk about in the "Vortex Report") and so
can't be trusted as an honest, unbiased info source.  The ones
that are good from these Google search results are from forum
postings...

Forum threads are a trustworthy source of common problems or common good things about products.

At first, my plan was to post reviews of everything---even stuff I found
to stink.  But then after thinking about it, I decided to only post
reviews of stuff that I found to be, at minimum, O.K.*

* (The only exception to this is if anyone requests a review for a
particular product.)

Why?

Because this is not just a product review site, but a guide to help
people new to the world of internet marketing.  Help steer them to
products that actually work and have a proven track record...

Let me illustrate with an analogy:

Don't you hate when someone gives you driving directions like this:

"There's an intersection at an old church a couple miles down this
road on the right hand side.  There's a sign out front says "Trinity
Church."  You can't miss it, it's got a big steeple on the front side.
Anyway, don't turn there.  Go another mile or so and turn right."

Why waste your time learning all about what NOT to do?
For crissakes, there's already too many products that do the same thing out there, and there's definitely way too much overlapping information in internet marketing,
in general.

Some products are available as free downloads.  They are highlighted
in green.

Yes, the stuff that costs money may be better in some ways, but
often the free products and information are as good and often better!

...So if some of the free products are as good or
better than the pricey stuff, why are they free?

Good question. Here's why:

Because in the world of internet marketing, 99% of products are
digital.  The initial costs of developing a digital product may be big,
but more often it's not---unless the product is a highly-developed
piece of software.  But even if the costs of developing a digital
product are high, the costs of producing and distributing the
product are darn near ZILCH...

...a million copies cost the same as one copy; digital downloads
eliminate all the "brick and mortar" costs like shipping, mailing, office
costs, the costs of employees, a building, etc.  It's a great system,
actually, and why you stand to make so much money with your new
career path...

...but I digress, so onward...

Every product---physical ones included---have a "life cycle" in which
sales peak and then decline.  Digital products, however, speed
through this life cycle much faster than physical products due to
the warp speed they can be bought and distributed.  So as demand
goes down, so does the price tag....

...and the price tag on a digital product can take a huge nose-dive
and still be profitable.  A $197 digital product will still be profitable
at a sale price of $9.95.*  (Assuming the development costs have
already been recovered.)

* But by this time, this same product is already being offered as a free "bonus" as part of a package deal to help sell a new software or e-book.

Eventually, this product will be offered free in exchange for a name
and email address.  Which is a win-win situation for everyone:  The
customer gets something truly of value Free, and the marketer gets
permission to send offers for things that cost money.  Hopefully,
the marketer will only send offers that have real value, and the
customer will willingly buy.  Win-win...

So that's how a truly quality digital product can be gotten for free.
The only catch is that sometimes the free product is so completely
outdated that it is of no usefulness anymore.  But any seasoned
marketer should easily spot these, and hopefully won't offer them at
all---free or not.

I only bought stuff because I am basically lazy and figured that if
something could save me time or energy then it's nearly always a
worthwhile trade for my money...BUT....

...that philosophy has cost me lots of wasted money and time!
During this process, however, I was able to identify what works and
what doesn't---hence the creation of HonestySellsBest.com.

Notice that "Pros" is after "Cons."  This is intentional because
the idea is for you to end up with a positive outlook : )

You'll notice I use the word, "Personally" instead of "Personal
Recommendations" at the end of each review.  The reason for this is
that although I sincerely believe in the stuff that's worked for me,
I realize that my way is not the only way...('cept for a few stand-
outs that I can shamelessly and confidently recommend ;-)

Let me give you a couple specific examples of what I mean by this:

1. Good Keywords is a free download.  But because I was already
used to using other, paid-for keyword programs, I never really used
"Good Keywords" enough to give it a fair shake.  You, however,
could discover it's the best thing since sliced bread.

2. You'll see that I recommend "SiteSell / SBI!" as an all-inclusive
program to take you from zero to 100 mph---no prior experience
necessary.  But as much as I could've personally benefited from
SiteSell, I chose to go with Dave Vallieres' "You Can!" because I
connected with Dave's style on a deep level---so learning was fun
with his program...

...to me. (But since then, SiteSell's become just too good a resource
to not use at all, so I've been building a website using SBI! and fully
expect it to work like gangbusters.)
