Internet Marketing:
One Big
Self-licking
Ice Cream Cone
-

(Read my Mini-Rant article on Testimonials if you get a chance...it
goes
with this Mini-Rant well.)
One reason why it's hard to roll out a truly
unbiased review site of internet
marketing products is because the entire world of internet
marketers is like one
big "self-licking ice-cream cone."
Let me qualify the above
statement with the definition of "internet marketers" as
I’m talking about on
HonestySellsBest.com...(This doesn't describe everyone, of
course, but so many that it turns your stomach.)
People who make their living or
are trying to make some part of their living---
selling information to other folks who are trying to make
their living selling
information to folks who, in turn sell that same information to
other folks who
are trying to make a living online, and so on.
Digitally-downloadable information
products.
And through the magic of affiliate programs
(especially thru "super-affiliates")
each info-product gets circulated throughout all the associated
email lists:
Example:
Bob is a lone internet marketer. But he comes out with
an info-product and
sends it out not only to his own list, but to his
affiliates who pitch Bob's product
to their own lists. These affiliates of Bob's are
also internet marketers. They
periodically come out with their own products and use Bob to
help market
their stuff to Bob's list...
And so on.
It's a great system, but
often the same info gets re-circulated throuhout the
"system." Hastily repackaged and sent back out with a new
look and a few
unique features.
At some point during this
shuffling and re-shuffling of information products from
one marketer to another, hopefully a "real" consumer
will snag a copy of an info
product now and then. This way, some new money can get into the internet
marketing circle.
Hence, the self-licking ice cream
cone analogy.
You see, there’s 3 basic
categories of people who comprise the sum total of the
internet marketing world that deals with only
digitally-downloadable information
products--to include all the money that circulates around and
around and through it:
1. Experienced Marketers,
to include the “Gurus”. In this category, we’ll
include
the range of folks who are making just enough money to live
on---up to the
millionaires. Their ‘salaries’ are paid by the Guru Wannabes
and the Consumers.
2. Guru Wannabes;
up-and-coming marketers. This includes people ranging
from
not making any money up to folks making a steady income—but not
really enough
to live on. Their money comes from selling the Gurus’
products to each other
and
to Consumers.
3. Consumers: These are the folks who pay part of the
‘salaries’ of categories #1 and #2 above. (Psssst:
Don't tell them, but most of the information in the
digital products they pay good money for can be gotten for free
practically
anywhere—like the internet (hey, now that’s a novel idea) or any
library!)
...Thank goodness it's been proven time
and again that people will enthusiastically
PAY for information before they'll waste time and energy
searching for it!
Because of the bottomless pit of people drawn
to the prospect of making their
living sitting at their PC, there will always be work for
those who can make it look
easy. Enter the Internet Marketer to the
'rescue'!*
*Keep in
mind that the folks I'm talking about in this article are the ones
who
don't bring anything new or unique to the table; people who just
recirculate the
same tired info around and around with over-hyped
sales copy...
