Keyword Elite Review

Intro:
Unless you're brand-new to internet marketing or have been hiding
under a rock, the software "Keyword Elite" should be familiar to
you.  Just as the name implies, it's a keyword research program and
it is definitely an "elite" keyword research program.  It used to query
the Overture database, but since Overture's gotten unreliable, it
queries Wordtracker's free database.

Price:
$167 (Although the "regular" price is supposedly $297.) 

Cons:
Because Keyword Elite has so many features and customizable things
about it, that means it has a learning curve.  And anything that
takes learning involves complexity and that means it will turn some
people off.  Like me.  At least, I found I wasn't using it after a
while because--darn it--I just wanted to generate a quick list of
keywords from an Overture query.

And it still seems to be slower than other keyword software. 

Pros:
But now, it is much more than just a keyword list-building
program.  And to be perfectly honest, it never was JUST a keyword
list-building program--it was always much more than that.  But now
you can create Google Adsense or Adwords campaigns directly from
it's interface.  Which wouldn't ordinarily be such a big deal
except that because you are doing this using Keyword Elite, your
campaign can be 'automatically' optimized for the lowest-cost
keywords (for adwords) or the highest-paying keywords (for
adsense).  All done with a few clicks of the mouse.

More:
Of course, garbage in, garbage out; you've gotta be smart with
which keywords you select.  Keyword Elite, however, takes most of
the guesswork out of this if you just pay attention to the
instructions and your own common sense.  Brad Callen has even made
videos that step you thru each step of the process---including the
adwords and adsense campaigns creation.  (Some of the videos are
'narrated' by Brad's brother, Matt.)

By the way, now's a good time to point out that the Callen brothers
are second-to-none when it comes to giving you the best video
tutorials to help you set up and use their software.  The fact that
they were using video tutorials before anyone else should tell you
something about their attention to detail and committment to
their customers.

It also comes with a very good PDF instruction manual with full-
color screenshots.  Speaking of screenshots, here's a squished-down
image of Keyword Elite working on the keyword, "keyword:"

A little more on the adwords campaign creation feature:  Like some
other keyword research programs, Keyword Elite allows you to "spy"
on your competition; you can bring up a list of other adwords ads. 
But here's where Keyword Elite is different:  You can select one
that you like (like one at or near the top of the ad list) and each
part of the adwords ad will be editable just like if it was your
own.  So you can tweak your competition's ad and make it your own!

The adsense page creation feature is the most incredible:  Keyword
Elite comes with 3 adsense templates (as of this article--OCT
'06).  After running a keyword research query, simply select the
keywords that you want to make an adsense site about and it will
search the internet for articles that are based on your selected
keywords.  So you can select high-paying keywords if you want.  Of
course, like normal, expect lots of competition for the high-paying
keywords. 

Anyway, it allows you to import your own adsense templates. 
Incredible.  It's worth the $167 just for this one feature, in my
opinion.  (At least if Adsense is still around in the future, or still worth
pursuing.)

The Keyword Elite website claims over 700 testimonials and
counting, and this is totally believable. 

So now, even though you still have to go thru a few more steps to
generate a keyword list than most other programs, your efforts are
rewarded with potential money-making ads and sites--done for you!

You can really go crazy with Keyword Elite and get monster lists of
keywords, and customize the results you get to the "T".  If you really
want to make money on the internet, you have to invest time an
effort into keyword research.  Period.  And Keyword Elite is hands-
down, potentially the best tool on the market to do this with.  It's
up to you to use it to its potential.

Personally:  Yes, it's easy to recommend Keyword Elite.  I've been
using it since it was released. (The first release was buggy and slow,
but another benefit of owning any Callen brothers' product is that they
are constantly working on and releasing updates to their software.) 
The latest version of Keyword Elite is indeed "elite."

Everyone knows it's the best software of its type out there; As of 
JUL '07 it's still the best non-subscription keyword research software
available.
