Mailloop 7.0 Review
(Internet Marketing Center)
Rating: 4.5 stars out of 5

Intro: The Mailloop series of products have been in a league all their own; that is, the 1.0 thru the current Mailloop 7.0 have not ever had any serious competitors. Corey Rudl and company worked on this software, continuously tweaking and adding features over the years. As a matter of fact, Mailloop is probably their flagship software product to date. And since Corey's not with us anymore, Derek has been keeping Mailloop going.
The result is a stand-alone autoresponder with all the latest bells and whistles (spam filter, etc.), e-book maker, newsletter maker, and other features. But Mailloop is marketed as not just an autoresponder, but a complete 'autopilot' for a web business. So the autoresponder part of it is only a small part.
(By the way, if you're not really familiar with autoresponders, check out the little tutorial here on HonestySellsBest.com entitled, "Autoresponders: What You Need To Know." Just be sure to close it out when you're done and return here so that you stay focused.)
But with the influx of third-party autoresponder services, like Aweber, GetResponse, and others, you have choices.
There's advantages to both, as well as disadvantages. (That is, having a reside-on-your computer and/or server autoresponder as opposed to having a third party handle it all on their servers.)
Price: A hefty $379
Cons: A hefty price. (The current marketing scheme as of this article says the "Standard Edition" is normally $379--but for the same price you get the "Pro Edition"...until 250 copies? or something like that are sold...but I expect the price to remain the same.)
Pros: There's lots of things to like about Mailloop 7.0. The Mailloop series has been out for many years (keep in mind that 5 years is considered "many" in the online world---just like your computer is considered ancient if it's over 2 years old :) so all the bugs have been ironed out and loads of improvements have been added.
Since Mailloop and Aweber have so many things in common, I think the only way to properly review Mailloop 7.0 is to talk about some of its unique features as compared to Aweber; things Aweber does not have.
Mailloop is very polished software that is really the Cadillac of reside-on-your-computer autoresponders. One advantage of this is that you don't have to pay monthly fees like with Aweber, GetResponse, or any of the other subscription-based autoresponders. You pay the one-time fee (at least thru a certain upgrade--like Mailloop 8.0, for instance) and you're all set. Aweber's subscription comes to about $20 per month, which comes to $240 per year. Doesn't take a mathematician to figure out that the 'break-even' point for Aweber's subscription as compared to Mailloop is about 18 months. After that, you losing $20 per month as compared to Mailloop--which you own outright. And that's not even considering a subscription rate increase.
One feature Mailloop has that Aweber definitely does not have is that you can automatically distribute all of your eBooks and registration codes (or any other product you may offer that can be delivered electronically) with Mailloop's built-in eBook distribution system.
If you sell an ebook that comes with a registration code and that person demands a refund (right after ordering--like so many 'download thieves' do) you can remotely shut off that person's copy: They'll go to reopen the product that they just got for free but it won't open!
There are many more features included with Mailloop that could not be included with any third-party autoresponder--simply because you are loading a huge software program on your computer; this will obviously allow for more features than a remotely hosted autoresponder could ever hope to have.
But perhaps the best thing about Mailloop 7.0 is that it's been tweaked for so long for the internet marketer--the home business entrepreneur.
Personally: I bought Mailloop 5.0 what seems like eons ago (I think '99, I may be wrong). But I loaded Mailloop on the hard drive, configured a few settings, and read the instructions. I found it to be pretty easy to use. The problem: I had no one to mail to!
This was during a time of buying everything I could get my hands on, even if I didn't need it at the time--like I talk about in the Vortex Report. "Putting the cart before the horse," as they say. "Being stupid," as others say.
Anyway, fast forward to last year. I'd hoped that since I'd paid over $200 for Mailloop 5.0, I'd get a discount on Mailloop 6.0, but no dice. So I subscribed to Aweber and haven't looked back. But after doing the research for this review, I've gotten glassy-eyed while reading about Mailloop 7.0 and been tempted to give in and buy it...
There is, however, the advantage of running your autoresponder thru a remote, subscription-based server like Aweber: No worries of your own system choking and also less worry of spam complaints. Aweber is "white-listed" on all the major ISPs (Internet Service Providers), which means your mail should get past most of the spam filters. The IMC claims Mailloop's fancy software will also get thru, too. But it's hard to believe it would beat Aweber's claimed delivery rate of 99.34%. I may be wrong.
But if you haven't already subscribed to a third-party autoresponder system--like Aweber, I'd seriously consider buying Mailloop instead. It allows more flexibility, automation, and comes with nice-looking templates for newsletters--even if you're sending email text only.
And it's a one-time purchase. But go check out the Mailloop 7.0 website. Then, go to Aweber or GetResponse and look at their features. I know that's why you're reading this review--to keep from having to compare notes--but this is one of those cases where you really couldn't go wrong with either choice:
Aweber & GetResponse are arguably the best subscription-based autoresponders, and Mailloop 7.0 is hands-down the best native autoresponder.
Either way, you could import your list(s) from one system to the other if you changed your mind and wanted to switch. Or you could have both, although that would be a waste, I would think...but I'm sure someone somewhere uses both and has good reasons for it, I just can't think of any now.
Go check out Mailloop's marketing goodies and ideas. You just may be convinced to go with Mailloop instead of a service like Aweber or GetResponse.
