1StepSystem Review
(Rod Stinson and Chris Koehl)
Rating: 2 stars out of 5

Intro: The 1StepSystem is a membership reseller program. By the way, I have no idea what the "1Step" part of the name has to do with the 1StepSystem, because there's definitely more than one step involved, although it is pretty slick if all goes as advertised. But "one-step" is market-speak, along with the claims that you can start making money within 24 hours....possible, but highly unlikely!
Anyway, as a member, you're selling two things with each sale: The 1StepSystem membership and the "Marketing Toolbox." Before you can become a "MA" or "Marketing Associate" that resells memberships and toolboxes, however, you've gotta buy one yourself. Which should be your policy with any product that you plan on selling effectively. This one, however, may make you wish you could just sign up for an affiliate account and skip the personal ownership thing....but could it actually be worth your investment? Read on...
Price: $597 membership fee + $19.97 setup fee + $29.97 monthly fee. TOTAL = $646.94 for your first month, $29.97/month thereafter. Cons: Hmmmm....let's see...I can't think of -- oh, maybe price? :) Yessiree, this is going to cost you up front. Also, because this is a 'high-ticket' product, your sales will not accumulate at the rate that, say, a good $27 ebook would. Not only that, but you have to make two "qualifying sales" before you can get a nickel of your money back. In light of all this, you may be tempted to say, "this thing sucks."
Pros: The record shows there's potential to make good money with this if you put in some effort: Once your two "qualifying sales" are made, you get to keep $500 of each $597 sale that you make.* (Technically, the $500 is the cost of the "toolbox" and the $97 is the membership fee...more on the "toolbox" later.)
Now, this is where it gets interesting: *I just used the phrase, "...sale that you make." But after you make your third sale (becoming a "QA" or "Qualified Associate") and each sale thereafter, you stand to reap the rewards of the 'two qualifying sales' policy: Because now you will receive the $500 X 2 for each of your direct recruits' first two sales. (And after they've made their two qualifying sales, they move out from under you and get $500 from their 3rd and beyond sales, and so on.)
By the way, "recruits" just means anyone who has become a 1StepSystem member from having signed up through your affiliate link...
More: Alright, if you're still reading, then obviously you aren't one of the folks who just got up and bolted for the fridge to get a cool beverage to calm your nerves...Or turned your computer off by unplugging it (because just clicking away from this site or going thru the lengthy shutdown sequence just wouldn't be enough)...
Because by this time, either the dreaded word has reared its ugly head or it hasn't. A word that's even worse than the 4- letter word, a word so bad that it's not even a word but an abbreviation, and it is "M............L.............M!!!!" (shrieking and loud profanity and general hysteria goes here)
At least that's what comes to my mind, although the 1StepSystem is not a bona fide MLM...but I think it's a close cousin.
Anyway, you drive potential enrollees to the 1StepSystem website via your affiliate link, where they'll hopefully sign up for the live teleseminar. (BTW, the live teleseminar is actually live and not recorded--this is one good thing about the 1StepSystem.)
This live teleseminar has proven to convert better than any gadget that's in your "marketing toolbox."

If you believe the above hype about "30 minutes" then do yourself a favor before its too late and unplug your computer right now and don't even think about restarting it until you've come to your senses!
The $500 Marketing ToolBox
Now, about the actual product, the "Marketing Toolbox:"
This is the internet marketing stuff you get for your own use and for sale as part of the 1StepSystem. Whether or not it's worth $500 is academic, because that's what you've gotta pay for it and sell it for.
Besides, you're really paying for the rights to resell the whole shebang to other suckers people so that they can resell it, and so on...
After joining you could care less about the actual quality of the products in the Marketing Toolbox because you just want to make your money back...(at least, that's how I felt at the time, I know it's not right, but that's how I felt.)
Quickly, here's what's in the toolbox:
PDFs (ebooks) written by some of the best authors in this industry.
Downloadable MP3 audios of interviews and seminars with folks like Dan Kennedy and Gary Halbert.
How-To videos--a bunch.
Lead Page Generator---probably the easiest to use for first-time webpage builders but with features much more advanced text editors have.
Form Generator (part of Lead Page Generator but deserving of its own bullet)
Downloadable & printable flyers, mailers, business cards and other offline marketing & advertising materials. These will have your unique "VIP" code in each, and they DO look professional.
A bunch of examples of Adwords ads...just log onto your Google account (free to setup if you're reading this with a question mark above your noggin).
Big keyword lists for cutting 'n pasting for Adwords* or whatever. |
*I don't recommend even trying an adwords campaign for this product. There's plenty of offline avenues to market to and the tools to do it.
Personally: I can't recommend the 1StepSystem because after checking out the "toolbox" myself (the thing that's supposedly worth the $500 of the $597 price), I found that 90% of the stuff can be gotten free or nearly so elsewhere.
Also, the adwords campaigns have been sucked dry from this thing. Your CPC would be astronomical unless you're smart enough to use some sort of "back-door" keywords that eventually links to your 1StepSystem affiliate page.
The One-Step System can be a slick, ingenious system for creating money out of little or no work...But only IF you can get people to buy and then motivate these folks to sell. But it smacks of MLM and you should run away as fast as you can from anyone who even mentions the dreaded..."M...L....M."
And if you're brand new to internet marketing, DO NOT even THINK about investing your hard-earned money in this thing!
