The Right
Attitude Needed
to Make Money Online
-
Charles Brown
Being an eternal optimist is
a huge advantage in every part of business and life.
Unfortunately, the same can't be said of ignorance and
gullibility. Which I
was a poster child for. (I actually chased a rainbow when I
was younger
because neighbor-punk Steve told me there was a pot of gold at one
end of it.
But that was a long time ago, when I was in my 30's.)
It all started when I truly believed the dozens of
testimonials from marketers
claiming to have started making good, steady money within weeks,
if not days.
(Allowing for exaggeration, I figured a few months
max.)
[It's impossible to feel bad about

But the reality of having to eke out a living far longer than I'd
planned while building
my online "empire,"---while working full-time as hard
as I could to make a living
online---burned off some of my naivete,
however.
"Start Making Thousands of Dollars In Weeks, Guaranteed."
"Start Making Money In The Next 15 Minutes Guaranteed."
"Grab These Products Now and Retire Early!"
...etc.
All of them couldn't be lying! Could
they?...(asked with innocent, trusting Bambi
eyes.)
When I came to my senses, I
realized that...
It is next to
impossible to start earning a steady,
reliable, bill-paying, job-quitting income in the time
nearly all internet marketers claim you can!
(Now, while
you may be thinking, "Duh," I was just opening my
eyes)....
And why
would they intentionally lie to
us?
...hmmm...just a hunch, but do ya think they might
be
selling something? *
|
*Of course they are, but we are too
eager to believe them. If you tell me what I want to hear,
I'll have a tendency to believe you. Even if it sounds too
good to be true. As a matter of
fact---especially if it sounds too good
to be true! Because the more desperate we are, the quicker we
want to believe that our 'ship has come in;' that our
'prayers' have been answered! |
In this day 'n age of instant
gratification, who the heck wants to wait a year or
more for a money-making program of any type to
work?!
[It's
impossible to feel bad about recommending this guy
and his
program.]
Oh how I
wish the get-rich quick schemes worked as hard as I
do.
But there's good
News:
The followng sentence is absolutely true if you take but
one of the words out.
(Can you guess which word?)
"Get-rich quick internet
marketing programs do exist and you can do
them! "
...if you haven't already
figured it out, the one word is "quick;" the above
sentence
is undeniably true if you just remove that word....now, if you
thought for even just a
moment that the word was, "you" (because it was bolded) you should
spank
yourself and never, ever question your ability and resolve
again!...(Because just
the fact that you're here and have subjected yourself to my babble
is proof you
have the willpower to sustain anything ;)
But all joking aside, you have
already demonstrated a willingness to read thru the
sobering truth of internet marketing GRQ (Get-Rich-Quick)
"opportunities" without
clicking away in denial. (Denial's not just a river in
Egypt"...to quote an over-used
cliche ;)
Internet marketing income
starts with a trickle....the trickle turns into a stream, the
stream turns into a river and you're on your way to financial
freedom, baby.
But this process takes
time. Like over a year in 99.99% of cases. But this
is good news!! Because if it was as easy as advertised to
start making gobs
of money in the short time claimed, everyone would be
doing it and so no
one would make any money! It seems so obvious when you think about
it,
but sometimes we need reminding.
[It's impossible to feel bad about

There is one bona fide get-rich quick
scheme and it's called the lottery!
On the other hand, no one gets excited about a get-rich s -
l - o - w plan, so the
real question is: What kind of time are we talking
about here?
The answer, of course, is dependent on so many
variables but we can make an
educated guess and say with some confidence that it will
probably take you from
8 months to 2 years to start making a job-quitting income
online. (How's that for a
complete shot in the dark, run-on sentence?)
Give or take...
The point is, there are truly so many variables involved in
making any statement as
to how long it will take you to start making a job-quitting
income online that it
would be an effort in futility to even try. But even with all
the unknowns, the time
from zero to job-quitting income is likely to be over 6
months.
But the best part is you won't
have to spend 5 or 6 years in college and graduate school only to
hit the "real" world "greener" than you were before you
started school and now $60K in debt to
boot!

Why You Want
Internet Marketing To Be A
Challenge
You want the online world
to be a challenge. Otherwise, you'd not only have to
compete with people who'd quickly forego college for an easier
way, but also
the college grads.
[It's impossible to feel bad about
recommending this guy

The following are some of the features (as related to effort)
that you want a
successful online business to have. (And, by the way, these
features guarantee
you'll always have a golden opportunity in online income because of
one
universal truth about humans: laziness.):
 |
You want it to take some research, reading &
studying. This feature
alone will eliminate 90% of your competition right off the
bat. |
 |
You want it to take some time, so that much of
the remaining 10%
of people will not stay the
course. |
 |
You want it to cost some money--even if
it's minimal--to keep the
penny-pinchers on the couch or counting
pennies. |
...Basically, you
want it to be challenging enough so that most people will give
up,
leaving you and the other winners who just wouldn't give
up.
[It's impossible to feel bad about
recommending this guy
and his

Just be sure you're not in that majority group that
gives up!
But that's exactly
what most people do: It's no secret that out of all the
people
trying to make a living online, only a scant fraction
succeed. (I can't remember
the exact figures, but the percentage of people who
actually "make it" is pretty
small---which is good for you and me.)
Ted and Jack
Ted quits, Jack refuses to
quit
Why does the large majority give
up? Is the reason most
fail because it's just too
hard?
The answer to that question depends, of course, on who is
answering it:
Let's pose this question to fictional characters "Ted" and
"Jack."
Ted is part of the majority that tried but failed to make it in
internet marketing.
Jack made it...
Ted would likely answer, "Yes,
it's just too hard."
(And from that, any and all the reasons why it's too
hard, i.e., "Too much
competition, not enough buyers, economy is down, bad timing, the
whole thing's
a rip-off," you name it.)
[If there ever was such thing as a "shortcut" in this business,
here it
is.]
How would Jack answer the
question?
By default, the answer 'Yes, it's just
too hard' would not--could not--even enter
into Jack's mind...because he, Jack himself, made
it! So "they failed because
it's just too hard" would be alien to Jack's
reasoning...wouldn't even enter his head.
So it's likely Jack would answer it something like this:
"Well, I don't know why
those folks didn't make it. All I know is I just kept trying
and one day I noticed
I was making money."
So what Jack is saying is that he, himself,
only made it because he simply would
not quit. Would not give up.
Period.
And, of course, Jack's reasoning would be "spot
on."
| Failure is a temporary
situation. It's giving up that makes it
permanent. |
Quitters never win and winners never quit.
So there is hope,
and lots of it!
You just have to have the right
attitude. Attitude is everything.
Follow this 6-step, step-by-step guide and you
are guaranteed to have your cake
and eat it too:
1.
Get an attitude adjustment--if you need it--for
your trip to financial freedom.
[It's impossible to feel bad about
recommending this guy
and his

"No one can create anger or stress within you. Only you can
do that, by virtue of
how you process your world. We can't always control what goes
on outside of us,
but we can always control what goes on inside of
us." -Dr. Wayne Dyer
(Look upon your trip to
financial freedom as an adventure---because that's exactly
what it is---an adventure. Life is a journey,
not a destination...enjoy the trip.)
Apply yourself as efficiently as
possible and don't worry about being
perfect. One step at a time...
2. Arrange your life so
that you can get by as cheaply as possible, while
maximizing your free time.
If you're used to living beyond
your means, take ownership of #1 above. Then
tighten your belt, and make peanut butter & jelly sandwiches
for dinner :) This
is an adventure and has the potential to be some of the most
rewarding times of
your life...yes, that's right---even while you're "struggling to
make it"---but only
with the right attitude.
...but then, with the
wrong attitude, you're doomed before you start,
anyway. And
since you've read this far, by definition
you must have the right
attitude---so there's
no excuse for you---you have what it takes to
succeed beyond your wildest
dreams!
3. Read and heed the
"Internet Marketing Money-Suck Vortex From Hell"
report. Really take to heart the part about
finding a program/mentor and sticking
with it.
4. As you start to make good
money, quit your part-time or full-time job.
5. Celebrate
your success by having a party at a really good beach
location.
6. Invite me to your beach
party. (You'll want me there because I'll be
your
bartender!)

[If you
want inspiration, if you want a shortcut--if there ever was
one--here it is.]
To quote an overused
cliche, "it's not rocket science"...
Do your best and don't give
up!
However, I do realize "do your best and don't give up" is
a vague and generalized
statement. But much of it simply means keeping a sharp eye on
yourself;
keeping yourself in line.
Here's a little mental trick to help keep yourself in the right
mindset to be a
successful entrepreneur; to be able to
"do your best and not give up:"
Remember:
Being an entrepreneur often means you have but
one employee---yourself! And
you
know that employee better than anyone, and if you don't,
you better start figuring
him out pretty darn quick before he takes advantage of you!
Start thinking of yourself as your own employee. Think of the
things you might
tell this employee to keep him on the right track...
"But Charles," you ask:
"Are you telling me to create a self-induced split
personality?!"
Absolutely. If that's what
it takes to keep yourself in line, sure. Make yourself
stick to a day's goals, stick to a plan. Constantly remind yourself to
stop checking email or doing other time-consuming tasks that
are 100% unproductive.
You are your own employee. Don't let your employee off
easy!
You need to make sure he's
committed to simple but important things that have
nothing to do with internet marketing but everything to do with
succeeding...
 |
Like striking a
balance between perfectionism and sloppiness, in
order to maximize
productivity. |
 |
Like not getting "pride of authorship" after
crafting a sales letter, for
instance; being able to erase one he's worked on for
hours--even
days, and start from scratch in a heartbeat, with no
regrets. |
 |
Like being focused and not
allowing him to get distracted from his
plan, but at the same time being open minded to new
ideas.
("A mind is like a parachute, it only works when
open.") |
 |
Like having a plan and being able
to consistently update it and even
start from scratch if it seems necessary--all while not losing site
of
the main goal..."the main thing is to keep the main thing the
main
thing." |
 |
Like making sure he takes care
of his physical body by eating right
or, at least, not eating horrible all the time, and
exercising regularly.
The effectiveness on productivity by staying healthy cannot be
overestimated. Especially focus on cardiovascular
fitness. |
 |
Like making sure your one employee's
family and friends respect his
work hours. And make sure you tell him not to let other
people
(including his friends and family) sap precious enthusiasm from
him
when they naysay his ambitions....even if he's got to
'release' any of
these "leeches of life energy" from his life. *
|
*
Basically, if he's having trouble in any of these
areas, counsel him on the necessity and importance of taking
charge of his own life....that any trouble whatsoever in one
of these areas means that he obviously is NOT 100% in charge
of his own life.
Tell him that before he can hope to progress,
he has to first regain (or gain for the first time) 100% control of
his own life; not to let others dictate what's good for
him. Tell him he will find that if he has
to 'put his foot down,' that people will actually respect
his wishes and gain new respect for his confident
determination. Even if at the beginning they
balk. | |
 |
Like taking the "white hat" approach
to online business, and treating
people like he would want to be treated--online and off--and
being
thankful for what he has. Tell him Oprah Winfrey said
(because, who
knows, maybe he's an Oprah Winfrey fan ;) that "if you count
the
things you don't have, you'll never be happy. Start each day
by
counting five things you're thankful for...you will always be
happy." |
 |
Lastly, tell him to never
take himself too seriously. Laughter's the
best medicine.
[Let's cut to the chase: There's no better
way in existence to
guarantee you get started off on the right foot than
here.]
