TurboMembership Review
(John Delavera)
Rating: 4 stars out of 5
Intro: If you've been around internet marketing for any time, the name "John Delavera" should ring a bell. John's been around for quite awhile and has created a great membership site. TurboMembership is similar to SiteSell in that they both were created to be a "one-stop" membership site; that is, you won't need anything else to succeed online.
John is one of those brilliant dudes who can whip out lines of code for a script in no time flat. If he even thinks there may be a need for a script/software, he creates it. And, more often than not, it works better than commercially produced software...
But often there's no commercially available software to compare his with because that's why John created it in the first place---to fill a need for non-existent software!
So if you join TurboMembership, you will have access to dozens of useful scripts that were custom designed by John Delavera. And all of them are as secure and smartly designed as they come.
Price: $67 per month with no setup fees. Now, there are other levels of membership that are extra. For instance, the Software Gold club is an extra $47 per month.
Cons: The extra monthly fees can add up; in the above example, would amount to $1368/year. And, unlike SiteSell, there are a couple things you'd need to outsource or buy.
John's flagship product, "JVManager" has a steep learning curve. I paid around $220 for it thru the Warrior Forum (normally it's around $400) but have found it to be a challenge to setup and use. Installation was easy, though. Anyway, even though I'm qualified to make affiliate commissions from recommending it, I won't. At least until a more user-friendly version comes out.
**UPDATE** July '07: John's new JVManager2 is out in force. I have no idea what its capabilities are, except that it's supposed to be a big improvement over the original JVM. I do know that it's very expensive at $1995.00, but, apparently, works well and does everything but make sales for you.
Compared to SiteSell, TurboMembership's training materials were not all designed from the ground up to cover all areas; There is a hodge- podge of dozens of ebooks written by various authors--each with a different tone and style of writing; it's up to you to make sense of it all. So this is definitely a "con" as compared to SiteSell.
Pros: That $1368 would be a paltry sum to have a (nearly) complete business. And compared to SiteSell, TurboMembership / TurboAffiliates does seem a little easier to navigate through. (But this is about the extent of any advantage that TurboMembership may have over SiteSell.)
Also, I believe you'll get unlimited access to the new JVM2 as a full- fledged TurboMembership member.
There are dozens of books available to you for resell when you join TurboMembership. John personally wrote at least two of them that form the 'Consititution' of Turbo: "The Blue Work Book" and "The Big Yellow Book of Turbo Marketing Secrets" (a.k.a. "The Big Yellow Book").
He also authors a comprehensive ezine called "Turbozine". It's regarded as one of the best ezines in the world when it comes to internet marketing.
More: Whatever's not covered adequately at TurboMembership, John points you in the right direction....I had to give John a big 'ole "Right on!" when I read that he recommends one of my personal favorite internet marketing training programs--Dave Vallieres' program, You Can! Make Your Living Online! (I am a proud affiliate of Dave's "You Can! program.)
Like I mentioned above, John Delavera is one of the best software engineers in internet marketing---and there's not that many! He has created some of best software for protecting your sales and your affiliate links.
Personally: I like most everything about the Turbo 'system', but I haven't yet been able to connect with the writing style/personality of John Delavera. He's a little 'weird' in a way, but definitely successful and he has a big following. You may like his style.
Ken Evoy's approach is more "behind the counter" style. (I read that from one of SiteSell's promotional pages and when I did, I instantly knew what they were talking about. Because that's exactly how Ken's presence is felt--like an unassuming friend "behind the counter.")
Anyway, there you have it, my personal comparison of two of the greatest complete online business systems in the world.*
*UPDATE: There's a new kid on the block in this category--Jack Humphrey's Content Desk.
While I don't recommend TurboMembership for newbies, it may fit your personality if you already know your way around internet marketing.
By the way, here's a link to John Delavera's products, if you're so inclined. Caution, however, that you don't give yourself a case of information overload.
